Checklist for Computer Class
Routines and Procedures
Teacher: Mrs. Moore
1. Seating: Yes, you will have an assigned seat.
2. Entering Class: Enter quietly and orderly. Use hand-sanitizer before class begins and sit in your assigned seat. No back packs are allowed in class. (See Lab Checklist) Wait for instructions! HANDS OFF the mouse and keyboard until given permission.
3. Lab Checklist: In the lab notebook there will be a computer checklist and sign-in sheet. You will sign in and you will be looking for things like: the condition of the computer (errors, was the computer left on, was trash left around the area, has anyone marked on the table or equipment, blue mat covering keyboard, chair placed up against the table, etc.). If things are left improperly circle the name of the student before yours to let them know that he/she needs to improve the conditions at their station. If students do not follow proper procedures their name will then be reported to Mrs. Moore and then she will talk with the student. Multiple offenses will result in a discipline check.
Special Note: At all times error messages must be logged into the notebook and you must notify your teacher before proceeding.
4. Class Dismissal: Close out of programs according to the instructions that Mrs. Moore gives. Cover keyboards with blue mat. Any headphones should be returned neatly to its proper place. Blue cups should be on top of the red cups. Pick up any trash around your area. Classes who cannot leave in an orderly manner may be dismissed by rows. You will be dismissed by row according to which rows are completely and properly closed out. If any one stands before the bell has rung their row will be dismissed last.
5. Red and Blue Cups: Place red cup on top of the monitor when you need help. Place the blue cup on top of the monitor to signify that you have completed your task. Practice the motto “ask two then you”. Ask up to two other people -when your team of three cannot resolve the problem it is time to ask Mrs. Moore for help and she will teach all three so that you become better problem solvers and also so that you can see problems that others have that you might have in the future.
6. Requesting Water: Don’t ask! Use fountains in halls before class!
7. Restroom: The same as #7 above. DO NOT interrupt the teacher during instruction, unless you are sick!!!
