Computer Class

Teacher:  Mrs. Moore

Students will attend computer class either on MWF or TTH depending upon their grade level and the semester.  During the first semester,  8th graders will meet  on a MWF schedule.       7th graders on a Tuesday Thursday schedule.  When semester 2 begins students will switch.    The priority of this class is to enhance the content of the academic classes offered at CCJHS.    Students will be working with Office 2007 – Word processing, PowerPoint, Database, Spreadsheets and Microsoft Publisher.    Any and all of the software mentioned can be used so that students can continue using multi-media software and the Internet to work on  research-based projects.   In addition, several peripherals can be used to enhance projects like cameras and a digital video recorder.   I am always looking for ways to enhance the academic curriculum so that students may learn to use technology for completion of projects or reports made by their teachers.  For the first 15 minutes of class students will work with keyboarding software that will help them increase their typing speed and accuracy.  I look forward to helping each student become more proficient in the area of computer literacy!

If you need to meet with me concerning the interest of your child, please make an appointment with me to meet during my planning period (2:00 p.m. – 2:50 p.m.).  You may also email me at moorek01@tennk12.net.

Approximately 120 students will share equipment such as a keyboard and mouse in a day’s time.  To help combat the spreading of germs - I am suggesting that students might want to use an anti-bacterial hand sanitizer.
