CCHS Senior Checklist
August-December
- Make sure that your are meeting graduation requirements and college admission requirements.
- Fill out college applications. Watch out for deadlines.
- Visit colleges that you are interested in attending. Narrow your college list to no more than 5 schools.
- Request catalogs and admission information.
- Take or retake ACT or SAT.
- Begin asking teachers and counselors for letters of recommendation to include with scholarship and admission applications.
- Obtain financial aid applications from your guidance office or college choice.
January-May
- Apply for financial aid using FAFSA form as soon after January 1 as possible. Parents need to have income tax returns prepared early.
- Request that your seven semester transcript be sent to the colleges you have applied to.
- Submit any financial aid forms and documentation as required by your college choice.
- Look for Student Aid Report (SAR) in the mail. This confirms your federal financial aid information as reported on the FAFSA form.
